Scientific review of projects under development
NCRRN provides multidisciplinary consultation and review of research related to cognitive impairment and cognitive rehabilitation. This consultation is available 1-on-1 or through a multidisciplinary committee, depending on the content of the research and expertise needed. Brief preceptorships
NCRRN will support short visits from outside investigators seeking to hone their research skills in a focused area related to NCRRN’s expertise. Visits are typically a few days to a week, and, thus, must have targeted goals. If you are contemplating a research preceptorship, please contact us.
Pilot funding
NCRRN pilot funding is available to investigators seeking to gather preliminary data to support an extramural grant application related to the NCRRN’s mission. Pilot support is generally provided to individuals who have already established a collaborative relationship with the NCRRN through one of the prior mechanisms. Financing and speakers for scientific meetings
NCRRN can provide supplemental financial support for scientific meetings whose content overlaps with the NCRRN mission, and will make available speakers and content for such meetings. If you are organizing a scientific meeting where NCRRN's expertise might be a useful addition, please contact us.
Resources for Recruiting Research Participants
NCRRN offers guidance about setting up HIPAA-compliant participant recruitment systems that can support neuro-cognitive rehabilitation research, including downloadable text for consent forms, participant recruitment flyers, etc. In addition, we offer descriptive statistics regarding consent rates and common reasons for exclusion that may assist others in estimating realistic sample sizes.

NCRRN maintains a list of outside funding resources which come to our attention related to cognitive neuroscience / cognitive rehabilitation research. Included are both recurring opportunities and one-time announcements.
